Four-Way Test
At the beginning of each meeting we remind ourselves of the The Four-Way Test.  Therefore, please remember to ask yourself always . . .
Of the things we think, say or do:
  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

As 2021 enters the final quarter of this year, we continue to see many changes in our lives, this includes our ongoing battle with COVID 19, climate change, governmental changes and our own personal outlook. As a small business owner, the last 18 months have been more than a challenge. Learning to navigate through such uncertainty taught me a great deal about adapting to new protocols, workflow changes (never thought I would be hiring a Covid Officer for a project), taking on added responsibilities for the health and safety of our employees, all while trying to maneuver to meet deadlines and delivery. I am quite sure anyone reading this has experienced their own trials and tribulations through the pandemic. Many with much more pressing consequences than producing a movie. As I strive everyday to become a better leader, parent and person, I constantly work at not allowing ego to drive my decisions or get in my way. Having the ability to check my own ego has often been a challenge through the 30 plus years of business ownership. Being passionate about my goals and aspirations is one thing, failing to listen, learn and adapt to the challenges in front of me is another. The rules are not going to change just because I don't like them or wish to ignore them. This is the cost of doing business with many of the guilds and unions my industry requires in the Covid era. With this in mind, I wanted to share a short presentation addressing Ego in business and life in general. It serves as a reminder to me. I hope you find it worth a view.
