bellDing! We’re now in session.

Welcome all – visitors, fellow Rotarians and guests alike to this E-Club program!

Remember the Four-Way Test!

At the beginning of each meeting we remind ourselves of the The Four-Way Test.  Therefore, please remember to ask yourself always . . .

Of the things we think, say or do:

  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

WEST VIRGINIA TALENT

Having grown up in West Virginia, I can still remember how exciting it was to see a fellow West Virginian succeed on the grand stage. Names like Cyrus Vance, Jerry West, Don Knotts, David Selby, Pear S. Buck and Sam Huff bring back youthful memories of pride in where I was from. Over the years as my life experiences grew along with my education, I began to realize how much talent this place has produced and fostered. The list includes John Nash, Homer Hickham, Katherine Johnson, John Knowles, Brad Paisley, Lawrence Kasdan, John W. Davis, Mary Lou Retton, Davis Grubb and Nick Saban are amongst several other people I failed to mentioned. West Virginia has produced athletes, academics, politicians, musicians, entrepreneurs, scientists, educators and many more leaders in their field.

Yes talent often prevails, but it also needs support and opportunity. During the course of my career, I had the chance to travel to many places in the state, as we produced ad campaigns for WV Tourism. I met various artisans, craftsman, musicians, etc. After each production, I was in awe at the talent this state continues to provide the  world. I recently produced a music video for a Morgantown native, Charles Wesley Godwin and his latest release "Strong". Charles is an extremely gifted singer/songwriter. Saving Country Music.com recently profiled Charles https://www.savingcountrymusic.com/charles-wesley-godwin-premiers-video-for-resilient-strong/  and Rolling Stone picked him as an artist to watch for.

I have included the video link to let everyone take a look. Remember, good things happen here, hard work does pay off and West Virginia still keeps producing amazing talent.

Enjoy.
